About Philip Hudson

Philip hudson

After qualifying in London, Philip spent time in Southern Africa where he was Senior Tax Consultant to the Government of Lesotho. Returning to the UK he spent another year in public practice and then moved to the commercial sector to become Financial Director of a small group of companies.

In 1986 Philip decided to set up his own professional practice - Philip Hudson & Co. A solid client base swiftly followed and many of these remain clients to this day.

Philip subsequently became a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; an Associate of the Taxation Technicians (Fellow) and a member of the Faculty of Taxation of the Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

Away from the world of taxation and accountancy, Philip is an active supporter of the arts. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Painter - Stainers, a Patron of the Royal Academy of Arts, a Patron of the Samuel Courtauld Society and a Committee Member of the Patrons of Gainsborough’s House.

Our philosophy

Financial affairs may be complex but they are also personal. It is extremely important that, whether you are a sole trader, the managing director of an SME or the FD of a large organisation, you must both like and respect those entrusted with your accountancy and tax matters. We are proud to have retained so many of our clients from the earliest days of the practice and believe this is because of our personal approach and ‘can do’ attitude to problem solving.
